Viking Food Processor
The Viking Food Processor follows in the proud footsteps of the Viking Stove, an appliance that is made for the home but is influenced by commercial kitchen appliances. The Viking Food Processor has beautiful industrial styling in black, white, bright red, graphite gray or stainless gray with chrome accents.
The machine has a pro grade motor for durability, power and quiet food processing even while performing the toughest of jobs. The work bowl has a cast metal handle and 12 cup capacity. The base is die-cast metal that is sturdy and easy to clean.
A new Viking comes with a large work bowl and a small work bowl and numerous blades for both sizes.
The Viking Food Processor has a control knob that is specific only to Viking. The knob is large and easy to use with pulse and on and off control. This processor has wheels in the back of the base to make moving it around the counter easier. But it’s sturdy weight keeps it from moving across the counter while processing.
Some of the reviews I read were from people who used to own Cuisinart Food Processors, but were tired of having to replace their broken work bowls and machines. They all felt the Viking Food Processor was much better built and would last much longer than their Cuisinarts.
The Viking VFP12 Food Processor costs around $330.00. While the cost is more than most brands, the quality and durability make it a worthwhile purchase.
Waring Food Processors
Waring has a nice line of food processors, they range in size from 2.5 quart everyday size to large 6 quart machines. The thing I really like about the Waring food processor line is they have a cool commercial/industrial look to them. I imagine some people don’t go for the gray body and smoke plastic tint of the bowls and prefer the whites of Cuisinart. But for me they are very distinctive.
With the Waring processor you can get a nice consumer model with a variety of cutting discs and chopping blades that’s around $140. What I like about buying the consumer models for home use is that Waring has a strong line of professional models, so you are getting that same quality and design in your home food processor.
The WFP11FC 2.5 quart model, which would be a fine addition to well stocked home kitchen comes with a commercial grade motor and would be well suited for a small commercial kitchen or catering company. With a price of $294 it falls well in line with the price of fancy home food processor models.
The WFP11FC comes with a five year motor and two year parts and labor warranty by Waring.
One of the features I really like is some models have a bowl and continuous feed chute for high volume food processing. A number of these Waring food processors compete with Robot Coupe food processors, both are great quality and durable and made for the professional kitchen.
Waring food processors are a great choice for a food business or a home cook who wants quality and style at a reasonable price.
